Laziness - Ignorance - Complacency - Domination

.
On the other side of issues are solutions... Why can we not achieve them...?

Laziness? Ignorance? Complacency? Domination?

How much money does any one person need to make?

There are millions of starving children being taught that the free world is evil because of the 1% that the rest protect in hopes they will get some of that money.

I sit here shaking my head...

Our industry is a way of life, yet so many of you don’t take it serious. There is so much potential and yet it gets squandered by a few that tell the rest… it can’t be done!

The holidays are approaching (Christmas for me) and many of you are struggling. We have an opportunity to make things right and be prosperous; yet taking that goal is held back because of fear... Yes, I said "taking"!

I believe in you; but I cannot convince you unless you are ready to believe in yourself.

I have people tell me I am special because I have made a good life out of nothing and truth be told, was homeless at one point in my life. If there is anything special about me, it is only that I do not take no for an answer especially when it comes to people telling me it cannot be done when I know full well it can.

Times are tuff… but they don’t have to be.

In the next year we are going to continue to make a mark; I have been here trying to form this industry in a positive way for almost ten years, and although there has been some help along the way… there have been even more telling me it is doomed for failure… I keep going.

Perseverance is only for those who chase it… Are you ready to chase it with me?

The UAN is here to stay and is paid up until the year 2019 (look it up on Who-is).

I look forward to your support to help you make it even better for you in the following years.

MikeM

Just as in one's personal life, in business an individual will reap the benefits of their efforts if a strong work effort is demonstrated. The person who sits back and does not do very much to further their career is not going to be successful. Hark work and persistence gains the rewards in business, just as it does in one's personal life. Both go hand in hand.

"The harder you work, the luckier you get!" I have been saying this all my life and it's true. Working hard creates situations that would not be there otherwise. Working hard creates opportunities for the businessman to be successful. Working hard brings about business ideas that can be seized and accomplished. Working hard can make one's own luck, by being placed in exactly the right place at the right time to achieve great things that would not be present otherwise.

In short, make opportunities happen by walking that extra mile, and creating exciting events occur. Sitting back and watching the world go by, hoping something will come to pass gains nothing. Moreover, jumping on the coat tails of the work that someone else has done does nothing either. Put forth the effort by investing in blood, sweat and tears, and eventually success will ensue!

Make the call backs, follow through on commitments, don't procrastinate, uphold quality, constantly search for new revenue streams, do the homework required, network, cold call, practice strong work ethics, do not be regretful...all are ingredients to being successful in life!

At the writing of this dissertation, I am preparing for work. I have assemblies to do today and several repairs to complete. Would I like to take the day off and do something else? Sure, but I can't afford to. What's more, I can never afford not to work. If I let up at any given time, someone else is going to seize my complacency and take advantage of it. Trust me, that isn't going to happen! And this attitude, my friends, is what has made me successful in a very short time, but I still have a long way to go. I am never going to be satisfied and neither should you.

It takes more that personal hard work to grow your business and make it successful. You must invest time in the cause too. What we are trying to build with this network and industry requires the commitment on each and everyone of you all the way across the country. Take advantage of this opportunity to create and grow an exciting and rewarding industry. If you aren't willing to invest your time and make these things happen, then step aside and let someone else take up the reins.

It's pretty simple really. Work hard and you shall be returned the rewards ten fold. I am living proof of this work ethic, and so is Mike. Time to get busy guys and knock it out of the park. Get busy, invest your time and make this network swell to unthinkable proportions. "The harder you work, the luckier you get!"

Mike, I look forward to the success of the UAN and serving on the advisory board. With a TEAM effort I see your efforts to establish a huge presence in the marketplace occurring. In a short time I have listened to some great ideas and I personally have a great success story to share in the next week or two.

    Hey Everyone!

Laziness, Ignorance, Complacency… What is that? It’s your enemy, is what that is… It's your competition sitting back waiting for the phone to ring or camping in front of City Hall hoping someone will throw them a bone for the mistakes they made along the way. Yes, there are some valid & legitimate reasons for the Occupy movement…

HOWEVER THAT DOES NOT PAY MY BILLS!

We are living in a new world that REQUIRES us to “Make it happen”! As Chris Manack keeps quoting: "The harder you work, the luckier you get!"… I also want to add to this that it is important that you are working hard IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! You can work really hard at the wrong thing (AKA: Ignorance), but once you know and are shown the right things to do (AKA: The UAN blog, calls, videos, referrals, etc…), you are given the choice of doing them the right way. If you don’t after that, then “stupid is what stupid does” comes to mind. :)

So, what I always say is to makes sure you are “WORKING SMART”!

Working smart means you are using the tools & advice that is available to you on the UAN! Asking the Assembly biz vets on the UAN what they are doing to pick up business when it slows down. Constantly promoting your business, networking locally and creating alliances with other industry complimenting businesses in your area that can help promote your business AND theirs. If you are in business for more then a year, have you ever contacted your previously satisfied customers with a phone call, email or mailer to drum up more business? No?... Why? They are your BEST advertising!

Ever notice that when you are experiencing what some people call a “slow season”, that you are receiving more advertisements in your mailbox then usual? This is because the tried & true advertising industry experts know when it is slow or they are expecting it to be slow (yes, they PLAN for the slow times too!), that they boost up there advertising and presents in front of previous AND potential customers! SO SHOULD YOU!

Get your listing on the UAN before it’s too late for your area, get involved with the UAN calls, ask questions by posting to the blog and getting on the conference calls. Heck, pick a few techs you like on the network and give him or her a call or email and make some like-minded friends to discuss the biz… I am sure there are plenty of folks willing to help you, including me! When it is slow you gotta GO GO GO! OK, bye for now… my phone is ringing again!

    Good Success to all!

What Chris and Mike have said is absolutely true. I continually get phone calls from people I don't know, asking me if I can complete work that someone else has thrown away. There are people out there claiming to be technicians that are too lazy to pick up the phone and call customers back, too inconsiderate to show up for appointments, and too ignorant to think that this doesn't affect others confidence in them.

This industry is not difficult, but it does require skills. If you are a technician, it requires the know how to complete the job. But, it also requires the dedication to communicate with the customer and any company involved in the transaction. We are all in a service industry which requires sales, promotion, and organization. If we are lacking in any of these areas, we need to strengthen them.

Like Chris, I have learned in a short period of time how to be successful. I continue to work hard, look for more opportunities, and learn on a daily basis. This network is full of business minded people that are hard workers. There are handymen out there that don't take this industry seriously. We are working hard everyday and will gladly take their work.

Work hard, make your calls, and create opportunities for yourself.

    Hi All,

In reading all your posts, I see a lot of good information and that information is the exact reason for this network. What works for someone in one part of the country may not work as well for another in a different part of the country, but the sharing of that information helps us all determine the best solutions on what works in our respective areas.

In my many years in this industry, as well as my whole life, I have learned one very important ability, that my dad taught me, many years ago, that I feel has probably been the best tool I have, as I have seen it work hundreds if not thousands of times to my betterment and I offer that to you today. That is the ability to listen and hear what others have to say. Yes, that one sounds so simple, but it's power is so great it will overshadow almost any other tool you use to promote yourselves and your business.

Don't get me wrong, I do love to talk a lot as Paul learned in out Summit in the South, which was like dueling banjo's, with us both fighting to get our ideas out or teaching as I like to call it...we all have a lot to say and only by being able to listen or hear what others are offering to you for "FREE", can you ever truly learn anything or gain knowledge.

At our weekly calls, I generally set my mic to mute and listen to all those on there who have a lot to say as that is how I really add to my arsenal of tools, I use to promote my trade, business and income. Many times Mike has said, Mark, are you still with us and YOU BET I am...as listening and Truly Hearing are two totally different things. DO YOU, listen or actually HEAR what others say???

Can you say, when that call is over that you "Had Your Say" during that meeting or that you "Heard" what others were saying or teaching to you for "FREE" to better your business and ability to grow your income, which is the "REASON" we are all here to feed ourselves and our families, RIGHT???!!!

As always, I am here to help any way I can...

    Hello Everyone,

I was astounded to say the least this morning to open my e-mail and see all these postings from the blog. Seeing so many postive "INPUT" from different sources from around the country is amazing. For those of you that have seen the movie "Short Circuit" the robot #5 was always seeking "INPUT" and now here we have it being listed.

Rather than "knowing OF the industry", why not take some time out and learn "ABOUT the industry", and you'll be amazed at what you will learn in the process. We all need "INPUT" and that's what the UAN is all about.

It's not just about the calls or the referrals, but information for YOU and helping your business succeed. The holidays are here for just a few more short weeks and your business should be utilized at this time to maximize your business potential into the upcoming new year. Get your "INPUT" here....there is no reason to "disassemble" this network !!!
